About Gemma

Gemma has always been a keen sportsperson.  Her career in health and fitness began in Thailand where she lived for several years in her early twenties and spent some time managing a Thai Boxing school for tourists.  She qualified as a Personal Trainer & Sports Massage Therapist in 2006 and immediately set up specialising training women.

The RYG Story

With her fitness background in boxing she utilised her knowledge to create boxing-based training sessions which she found had both physical and mental benefits to clients. She was the first female trainer at Islington Boxing Club where she was involved in taking large recreational boxing sessions and also set up & successfully ran Women’s Only Fitness and 30 minute High Intensity Classes.

Over the years Gemma has continued to study and add to her qualifications, both in physical training aspects and nutritional advice. Her sessions cater specifically for individual clients and can incorporate boxing fitness, core stability, bodyweight movement (animal flow), resistance training, weights and high intensity cardio.

In more recent years Gemma has studied Pre & Post Natal exercise and in 2016 qualified as a Holistic Core Restore®  coach, specialising in post natal rehabilitation, diastasis recti, healing & mild pelvic floor dysfunction – ‘sneeze and wee’ maybe be common but it is not normal and can often be resolved with a little training & education. She is determined to break down some taboo barriers and get ladies talking about real issues that affect women post natally.
